Live-In Care

Round-the-clock support, dignity, and reassurance—at home.

For many people, home is not just a place — it’s a part of who they are. It holds their memories, their routines, their sense of self. It’s where they feel safest, most comfortable, and most in control. And when health needs change, that connection to home becomes even more important.

That’s why our live-in care service is designed to provide the support you need without asking you to leave the life you know and love. Whether it’s help getting up in the morning, managing medications, or simply having someone there for a reassuring chat, we bring care directly to your doorstep — so you can continue living on your terms.

At Greenwich Home Care, we offer compassionate, one-to-one care around the clock. Your dedicated carer doesn’t just provide professional support — they become a trusted companion, someone who respects your independence, honours your routines, and is there whenever you need them. With us, you're never just looked after — you're genuinely cared for.

Is live-in care right for you?

Live-in care is a good fit if you or a loved one would benefit from:

Ongoing support throughout the day, with responsive help at night as needed

Remaining at home rather than moving into residential care

Extra reassurance for family, with regular updates and a named point of contact

Support that flexes as needs change (short-term, respite, or long-term)

Common reasons people choose live-in care include dementia, mobility challenges, frailty after a hospital stay, end-of-life support alongside community nurses, or simply wanting company and routine.

What a live-in care worker can help with

Personal care: washing, dressing, continence support, oral care, skincare

Medication support: prompts or administration per the care plan

Meals & hydration: planning, shopping, cooking, safe nutrition and fluids

Mobility & transfers: safe moving and handling, gentle exercise prompts

Household tasks: light housekeeping, laundry, bed-making, tidying shared areas

Companionship: conversation, activities, community outings, routines that feel “you”

Appointments & errands: liaising with family and professionals (with consent)
Specialist needs: dementia-capable support, end-of-life care (in partnership with NHS teams)

Clinical procedures (e.g., insulin, wound care) are delivered only where assessed, trained, and agreed within our policies and the care plan. We’ll be clear about what we can and cannot safely provide.Would benefit from having someone nearby — not just for care, but for connection

How live-in care works with Greenwich Home Care

  1.  Listen & assess (free): a no-obligation home assessment to understand needs, preferences, and daily routines.

  2. Personalised plan: clear goals, risk assessments, and visiting instructions; family input welcomed.

  3. Care worker match: we consider skills, experience, interests, language, and personality fit.

  4. Set-up & handover: introductions, home safety check, medication reconciliation, and care-notes set-up.

  5. Ongoing oversight: regular reviews, spot checks, and open communication with family and professionals.

Our care workers are safely recruited, enhanced DBS-checked, trained, supervised, and supported by our leadership team.

Day and night: what to expect

Daytime: proactive support, meaningful activity, and household routines.

Night-time: either sleep-in (carer sleeps on site and wakes if required) or waking night (carer remains awake throughout) depending on assessed need. We’ll agree the right option during assessment.

Digital care notes & family updates

We use secure, real-time care records so authorised family members can see how the day went, notes from the care worker, and any actions for follow-up.

Respecting your home and life

Your home, your rules. We agree house preferences (mealtimes, visitors, pets, quiet hours) and privacy boundaries. Care workers are guests in the home and follow our professional code of conduct.

Safeguarding & quality

Greenwich Home Care is regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). We operate robust policies on medicines, infection prevention, moving & handling, safeguarding, and confidentiality. Full policies are available to inspectors on request.

Fees & funding

We provide tailored quotes after assessment—no obligation, fully itemised. Pricing reflects support needs, care worker experience, night arrangements, and any enhanced skills required. If your care is funded or part-funded by the local authority or NHS, we can coordinate with commissioners where appropriate.
